It was a great experience overall. I tried the lamb biryani and chicken fried rice, both were very good. I especially enjoyed the subtle, unique touch of nuts in the biryani, which added nice texture and flavor. The chef personally greeting guests was also a thoughtful and welcoming gesture. The restaurant was spacious and quiet on a Thursday evening, making for a relaxed dining experience. I would definitely visit again for the food. If I had one small observation, the interior didn’t quite reflect a strong upscale or authentic Indian dining atmosphere, as the apartment style ceiling design made it feel a bit plain. Some additional Indian inspired design elements could enhance the overall ambience and make the experience feel even more immersive. That said, this is not a complaint, the food quality and hospitality were genuinely enjoyable. ~ Inesh M

Visited their new location last night. What a gem of a place. Big and bright dining area. Same friendly staff and huge portions. Owner greeted us with a warm bowl of hot soup . Followed by sizzling tray of steaming huge portion of tikka paneer . I have visited many Indian restaurants in the last decade in Edmonton and most unfortunately skim the portions when it comes to paneer . This serving on the other hand , was excellent and huge that too for $15. With a side salad and chutney. Butter chicken combo was great as well. New location still great tasting menu and friendly family run restaurant. You should give it a try if you like East Indian cuisine. At its best. ~ JOE

I recently visited Spicy Hut Bistro and Bar, and my experience was genuinely satisfying. The ambiance strikes a great balance between casual and vibrant, making it a comfortable spot for both quick meals and relaxed evenings. I ordered the biryani, which the waiter served promptly and with a friendly attitude. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff seemed knowledgeable about the menu. The biryani itself was aromatic and flavorful, with well-cooked rice and tender pieces of meat. The spice level was just right—bold enough to give it character but not overwhelming. A side of raita complemented it perfectly. If anything, the portion size could have been slightly larger for the price, but overall, the taste and service made it worthwhile. I had a great experience at Spicy Hut! The food was delicious and full of flavour, and the presentation was excellent. They welcomed me with papdums and also hot and sour soup, perfect for the wintertime. I especially enjoyed the Lahori Chicken. It was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the visit even better. The atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. Bhoj is an amazing chef and a great owner. He will welcome you whole heartedly and will ensure that you have a great time. This place can be a great value play with amazing food quality. We tried dahi kebab, amritsari kulcha with chole and veg momos. Everything was decent and tasted fresh. We have also tried their curries and that was stellar. We have tried their Paneer Lahori and garlic naan. It was top notch. They started in September of 2025 and I really hope they get the much deserved success and attention in very competitive industry. Give their curries a try and you will not be disappointed. I will surely be their regular customer. ~ H. S

I had a great experience with Spicy Hut at Desrochers. I ordered paneer butter masala, shahi paneer, and soya chaap butter masala, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly cooked. I also ordered food for a Christmas party for my clients, and it was a big hit—everyone loved it! The quality, taste, and consistency were excellent, making it a perfect choice for catering as well. Highly recommend Spicy Hut for both regular orders and special occasions. Went with my siblings and we ordered the Chicken Lahori, Chicken Vindaloo, and Chicken Tandoori Tikka. They made it not spicy as we requested and it was amazing. The tikka was charred very nicely and even the charred cabbage of it was amazing. The Vindaloo had a nice unique sour/tangy flavor. And as for the chicken Lahori it was one of the best curries I have ever tried. I don't even know how to describe the taste. I highly recommend it. Apparently it is the chefs own unique recipe of it. The chef came to greet us and he was very friendly and I chatted with him about his recipes of the different curries and to my surprise he let us try samples he had ready of the butter chicken and korma as he had unique recipe versions of them too. And they were both delicious. The korma had a cardamon flavor to it and the butter chicken was earthy. My top 3 were Lahori, butter chicken, and Vindaloo. And the server was very nice as well with us. Overall I highly recommend. The chef seems to give a lot of care to the dishes it's definitely worth trying out. Especially the Lahori curry. ~ Gasser H

We had to come find this restaurant after the owner changed location. We have been coming to the old location for years and it has always been delicious! We always find ourselves stuffed with all the tasty food!! As well, the owner and staff have always been super friendly and welcoming! We had the chili baby corn, manchurian, hakka noddles, fried momo, tandoori paneer, Lahori paneer, and garlic naan. My friends and I ordered two different types of Naans and three kinds of food. The chef’s recommended menu was absolutely delicious.(Lahori Prawn) The chef personally came to our table and explained everything in detail, showing his passion for his cooking. The atmosphere here is so homey and welcoming. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and the chef was unbelievably generous with us. Went to Spicy Hut with my family and we absolutely loved it! The steamed momos were soft and juicy, the Lahori chicken was super flavorful, and the chicken tikka masala was creamy and delicious. The naan was fresh and fluffy, perfect for scooping up the curry. Even the tea hit the spot. Great food, good portions, and a nice place to enjoy a meal together. Definitely coming back! ~ SB

🔥 Just had an amazing experience at Spicy Hut Indian Bistro and Bar! The kadai paneer and chole kulcha were BOTH 🔥 hits! The kulcha was perfectly fluffy and soft – I was obsessed . Ordered kulcha and noodles from Uber Eats today, and both were really good. The kulchas were soft and full of flavor, and the noodles were perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. Looking forward to visiting for dine-in soon! ~ Amrit D

Spicy hut it's a hidden gem in SW Edmonton. They have awesome authentic Indian food with nice soups, starters and breads. The chef is very talented and service is very attentive. Highly recommended who is craving for Indian food. Thanks. ~ Narayan M
