Visited their new location last night. What a gem of a place. Big and bright dining area. Same friendly staff and huge portions. Owner greeted us with a warm bowl of hot soup . Followed by sizzling tray of steaming huge portion of tikka paneer . I have visited many Indian restaurants in the last decade in Edmonton and most unfortunately skim the portions when it comes to paneer . This serving on the other hand , was excellent and huge that too for $15. With a side salad and chutney. Butter chicken combo was great as well. New location still great tasting menu and friendly family run restaurant. You should give it a try if you like East Indian cuisine. At its best. ~ JOE

I recently visited Spicy Hut Bistro and Bar, and my experience was genuinely satisfying. The ambiance strikes a great balance between casual and vibrant, making it a comfortable spot for both quick meals and relaxed evenings. I ordered the biryani, which the waiter served promptly and with a friendly attitude. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff seemed knowledgeable about the menu. The biryani itself was aromatic and flavorful, with well-cooked rice and tender pieces of meat. The spice level was just right—bold enough to give it character but not overwhelming. A side of raita complemented it perfectly. If anything, the portion size could have been slightly larger for the price, but overall, the taste and service made it worthwhile. I had a great experience at Spicy Hut! The food was delicious and full of flavour, and the presentation was excellent. They welcomed me with papdums and also hot and sour soup, perfect for the wintertime. I especially enjoyed the Lahori Chicken. It was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the visit even better. The atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. Bhoj is an amazing chef and a great owner. He will welcome you whole heartedly and will ensure that you have a great time. This place can be a great value play with amazing food quality. We tried dahi kebab, amritsari kulcha with chole and veg momos. Everything was decent and tasted fresh. We have also tried their curries and that was stellar. We have tried their Paneer Lahori and garlic naan. It was top notch. They started in September of 2025 and I really hope they get the much deserved success and attention in very competitive industry. I had a great experience with Spicy Hut at Desrochers. I ordered paneer butter masala, shahi paneer, and soya chaap butter masala, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly cooked. I also ordered food for a Christmas party for my clients, and it was a big hit—everyone loved it! The quality, taste, and consistency were excellent, making it a perfect choice for catering as well. Highly recommend Spicy Hut for both regular orders and special occasions. We had to come find this restaurant after the owner changed location. We have been coming to the old location for years and it has always been delicious! We always find ourselves stuffed with all the tasty food!! As well, the owner and staff have always been super friendly and welcoming! We had the chili baby corn, manchurian, hakka noddles, fried momo, tandoori paneer, Lahori paneer, and garlic naan. My friends and I ordered two different types of Naans and three kinds of food. The chef’s recommended menu was absolutely delicious.(Lahori Prawn) The chef personally came to our table and explained everything in detail, showing his passion for his cooking. The atmosphere here is so homey and welcoming. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and the chef was unbelievably generous with us. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and full of flavor — honestly the best food in the area. The prices are amazing too, especially for the quality and portion sizes. Went to Spicy Hut with my family and we absolutely loved it! The steamed momos were soft and juicy, the Lahori chicken was super flavorful, and the chicken tikka masala was creamy and delicious. The naan was fresh and fluffy, perfect for scooping up the curry. Even the tea hit the spot. Great food, good portions, and a nice place to enjoy a meal together. Definitely coming back! ~ SB

Went to this place with my friends, was treated like family and the service when entering was outstanding. We have Sandip as our server, he was amazing, he showed us great hospitality. Spicy hut it's a hidden gem in SW Edmonton. They have awesome authentic Indian food with nice soups, starters and breads. The chef is very talented and service is very attentive. Highly recommended who is craving for Indian food. Thanks. ~ Narayan M

Just ordered Ubereats. Hard to find food these days that’s good value, and amazing taste. Best Shani paneer I’ve had. You can tell the spinach curry was freshly made, and not too oily. Will be ordering from here more frequently! ~ Samuel L
